A fundraiser has been launched to cover the electricity costs for this year's Christmas lights switch-on in March, which takes place on the evening of Friday November 29.
Martin Field set up a JustGiving page with the aim of raising £500. So far, the fundraiser has already received donations totalling £400.
"We all enjoy the Christmas lights and the switch-on event, which is entirely organised by volunteers," he said.
"However, the lights themselves, the electricity used and the organisation of the event all cost money.
"We wouldn't be able to do this every year without your generous support."
