Dozens of people lined March high street yesterday morning as the new Poundstretcher store opened in the town.
The grand opening featured a live quiz show were those who were first in the queue had the chance to win £15 worth of vouchers each.
There was also a charity trolley dash in aid of March Foodbank which, thanks to its manager Becky Cooper going wild in the aisles, raised £248.
The Mayor of March, Cllr Ms Kim French, also cut the ribbon to mark the store's official opening.
Poundstretcher is located at 13/15 Broad Street, the former home of M&Co.
The shop also has a large Pet Hut section which has everything for dogs, cats, small pets and wild birds.
The new opening is part of a series of new stores openings across the UK, meaning that March becomes the 18th store to open this year as part of the Poundstretcher group.
New members of staff (both part and full time) from the local area have been recruited to work at the store.
