Two Cambridgeshire residents emptied shelves at a store in March as they participated in a Snappy Shopper basket dash challenge this week.
Jenny Watson and Tina Webb were the lucky contestants nominated for the challenge and together they walked away with a grand total of £213 items from Family Shopper Subway March.
The lucky ladies were given 60 seconds each to fill a basket with as many items as they possibly could with it all being paid for by Snappy Shopper.
Alcohol, vapes, tobacco and lottery products were all excluded by the deal.
Jenny, the woman behind the Facebook group ‘March Missing Pets’, used her 60 seconds to fill her basket with food and treats for stray cats in the area.
One Facebook commenter said: “Can we just appreciate that Jenny went for all the cat food to provide for the stray cats in March. True hero she is.”
Jaz, owner of Family Shopper Subway March, said: “Well done to our Snappy Shopper Store Dash winners, Jenny, and Tina.
“Both ladies did amazing and managed to bag themselves, and the cats, a load of goodies!
“We have plenty of great competitions and offers coming soon with us and Snappy Shopper.”
In partnership with Snappy Shopper, Family Shopper Subway March will offer an exclusive Subway footlong meal deal to customers for just one penny next week.
The meal deal will be available from May 28 to May 29, offering hungry customers the chance to enjoy a footlong sandwich, one side, a drink and a cookie for 1p.
Mike Callachan, chief executive of Snappy Shopper, said: “At Snappy, we’re all about supporting local retailers, to support their communities, so will continue to back these initiatives wherever possible.”
