Wisbech Rose Fair is set to return this Saturday (June 29) and will feature donkeys, and their humans, adorned with floral garlands.
The annual parade through the town will also feature the local RAF cadets and their Blue Barrow display team.
Four years older than the Donkey Breed Society, whose members will be parading their donkeys at the Rose Fair, the Wisbech event is making a post-Covid return having originated in 1963.
The fair started when a local rose grower donated rose buds to raise funds for St Peter and St Paul’s Church.
Donkey Breed Society regional member Carole Travell said: "Away from parades, the donkeys enjoy a varied life of other activities as donkeys just love to be involved in whatever their humans are getting up to.
"Some enjoy picnic and pub walks and treks, showing, driving, training days, for all ages of donkey and human!
"The DBS runs a variety of things to do with donkeys – and you don’t have to own one to join in.
