Promising pupils at Thomas Clarkson Academy in Wisbech were lauded during an emotional achievement evening.
The Mayor Sidney Imafidon was among the esteemed guests gathered to honour the young achievers.
Awards were presented across all academy departments, recognising the accomplishments of pupils from Year 7 to Year 12.
Renowned author Rudi Jennings, the guest speaker, encouraged them to pursue their dreams relentlessly.
Mr Jennings said: “It is a pleasure to come back to a school which has been very supportive of me, and it’s lovely to tell you a little bit about my road to becoming an author."
He spoke about his non-conventional path to success, which included a stint in the care industry and close protection work in South Africa.
Mr Jennings continued: “I was never taught how to write.
"It was only through the wonderful encouragement of parents and friends and I got very lucky.”
His inspiring narrative enthused the pupils, showcasing the importance of perseverance and determination.
Senior vice principal Matt Dobbing praised the pupils' work ethic, drawing attention to the numerous prestigious universities attended by academy alumni.
He lauded the prize-winners for their unwavering dedication towards their studies.
The celebration was also attended by Derrick Holmes, Peter Dennis, Michael Bates and Brian Kett from Wisbech Business and Professional Men’s Club.
They sponsored the Business Student Awards, a recognition of outstanding achievement in the realm of business studies.
The names of top performers in Maths, Science, English and various other subjects were read out, symbolising their commitment to their education.
Each of these pupils had proven exemplary in their respective fields and were celebrated for their consistent hard work.
The occasion stood as a vivid reminder of the potential that the next generation harbours, as they continue to strive for academic excellence.
