A prominent teaching hub has announced its four-year mission plan.

The Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Teaching School Hub (CPTSH) has been supporting schools since September 2021 and has now revealed how it aims to further contribute in the years 2024 to 2028.

The strategic mission, 'Local Leadership, Local Impact', guides the CPTSH's goal of supporting the region's pursuit for better-quality training and personalised support.

Already the third largest teaching hub, the CPTSH has detailed plans to extend its support for teachers, educators and leaders in the area.

The hub's plans focus mainly on provisions in Initial Teacher Training, Early Career Framework, Appropriate Body, National Professional Qualifications, and Continuous Professional Development.

It seeks to address and overcome boundaries unique to the region that limit the ability to access evidence-based professional development.

Lesley Birch, CPTSH strategic lead, lauded the role of the teaching hubs in nurturing educators.

She said: “Teaching School Hubs are a critical vehicle for teacher development.”

She further emphasised the value of the reaccreditation received in February which allows them to carry on delivering the 'golden thread' for their region.

Birch also addressed the Labour Party's announced plan to boost the teaching profession by hiring 6,500 new teachers for key subjects.

She said: "we warmly welcome their wider commitment to further raise the status of the teaching profession."

She expressed positivity towards the government's plans to keep training grounded in evidence and to perpetuate professional development.

Adding to this, Lynne Birch, CPTSH Hub Lead, highlighted the significance of partnerships.

She said: “Relationships are key, and we will develop the strong partnerships with schools that characterise our compelling local offer and offer communities high-quality training and personalised support."

To accomplish their aims, they plan to utilise feedback and collaboration with numerous educational groups, trusts and schools.
