Excitement is building at Topping's Ely for next month's Autumn Literary Festival, with an enticing line-up of five accomplished authors expected.

Festival-goers can anticipate engaging insights and live readings from literary titans such as Wendy Cope, Dan Jones, William Dalrymple, and newcomer Jennifer Lucy Allan.

Wendy Cope is set to kick things off on September 12.

This distinguished resident of Ely will celebrate the publication of her collected poems, including the winning concoction of wit, clarity and insight which has made her a best-selling poet since the release of 'Making Cocoa for Kingsley Amis' in 1986.

Attendees will have the rare opportunity to listen to Cope discussing and reading from her complete verse collection.

On September 16, historian Dan Jones will share his uniquely detailed account of the life of Henry V.

This retelling gives due consideration to the pivotal first 26 years leading up to Henry's ascension to the throne.

Jones not only paints a detailed portrait of the man but also illustrates the enduring influence of his reign.
