A family run coffee shop offering a range of home baked snacks, including gluten-free treats, is coming to a Fenland town.
43a Coffee House is set to open in March on October 27 after weeks of anticipation.
Formerly Nala Coffee and Desert Lounge, Tammy Appleton purchased the lease for the premises in July and has spent the last three months revamping the shop.
Ms Appleton said the shop will sell homemade cakes, paninis and sausage rolls using produce supplied locally, including a nearby butcher and market.
She told Cambs Times: "We've designed the shop in a way that is warming and inviting for those that visit.
"It features lots of wooden shades and is just generally cozy, which is perfect for a coffee shop.
"It's had a commercial kitchen installed with new coffee machines, new flooring, a new bathroom and new lighting."
Ms Appleton ran a coffee shop in Kings Lynn called Norfolk Tea Rooms for more than 20 years before managing a restaurant in Downham Market.
She said she was "inspired" to launch the coffee shop after realising she no longer wanted to “work for other people”.
She added: “When I sold my previous business, I thought I’d be better off working for someone else.
“In hindsight, because I’ve worked for myself for so long, I realised that I didn’t really want to work for other people.
"There's nothing better than being your own boss and we can't wait to open"
As well as a range of coffee blends, 43a Coffee House will also offer a range of gluten free options, including cakes and savoury items.
Ms Appleton said: “After visiting as many restaurants in the area as I could, there’s definitely a market for gluten-free products in March.
“I just couldn't find any gluten-free cake anywhere, so we hope to be able to offer a great selection."
The former restaurant manager added that she is looking to hire two more members of staff to join the family business.
