A cocker spaniel puppy was stolen from the back garden of a reputable and licensed dog breeder in the Fens last night (Wednesday).

The male 14-week-old pup was playing with two other puppies at a property which is also his breeder’s home in Emneth.

It is understood he was taken between 6:30pm and 8:30pm.

He is described as orange roan in colour, “chunky” in size at approximately 7kg and with a small scar in his eye from a recent surgery. He had not yet been named.

Lindsey Morgan, a dog breeder of more than 30 years, says he is also microchipped and she has the DNA profile of both parents that can be used to identify him.

Since she posted about the incident on Facebook, thousands of people have shared a photograph of the dog with his key details in an attempt to bring him home.

A social media appeal to find the pup has been shared by thousands of Facebook users already overnight. “The puppies were outside having their usual evening play and I could hear them running around as usual.

“But it came to coming in for bed time and one was missing. There is no way he could’ve escaped because the fencing around the property is very secure.

“The only thing I can think of is that someone has jumped part of the fence, grabbed the puppy and then taken him.

“It must’ve happened in a matter of seconds because my German Shephard nearby didn’t make a sound and there was no change in the other pups’ behaviour.

“The CCTV here unfortunately didn’t pick up any motion and didn't kick in so we have no images.

“I'm so worried about him, and about how he will be treated. If anyone sees him or knows anything about this, please contact me.”

Lindsey’s services are rated five stars in an animal welfare rating document put together by West Norfolk Council.

This publication has chosen not to reveal the exact location of her business to protect the other animals in her care.

A Norfolk Police spokesperson said: “We received the report this morning and it is being processed by our teams.

“It will be triaged like every report that comes into our control room and officers will contact the victim in due course.”
