A vicar has appealed for support to save a church spire.
Rev Ruth Clay, of Saint Wendreda’s Church, March, has outlined the urgent need for repairs due to corrosion in the spire's metal tie bars.
The cost of repairs is estimated at £250,000.
Consequently, the church bells will remain silent until the necessary funds are raised and the repairs completed.
Rev Clay has called on both the local and wider community for support.
A series of fundraising activities is planned, including a ‘sponsor an angel’ initiative.

The church is also selling themed items, including a limited-edition jigsaw puzzle featuring the church and its roof.
Donations, angel sponsorship, and jigsaw orders can be made online or by emailing Rev Clay at revruth.marchchurches@outlook.com.
Rev Clay highlighted the plight of the church’s spire during a presentation to The March Society about the church’s 120 hammer beam roof angels.
The angels, believed to have been carved 500 years ago by carpenters in Bacton, Suffolk, are noted for their varying conditions and individuality, with many holding medieval musical instruments.
