A young carer has spoken about how he found his "rewarding" job after finishing his A-levels.
Matt Fletcher, 20, is a carer and lifestyles coordinator at Aria Court care home in March.
He joined the care home after finishing his A-levels in law, politics, and business during the Covid-19 pandemic.
He said: "At first, I was a bit apprehensive.
"I wasn’t sure if I could do it."
However, two years later, Matt has found his stride in the role, which combines care work and organising activities for residents.
He enjoys taking residents on trips, playing games like dominoes, and participating in musical activities.

He said: "I like coming to work.
"It’s a rewarding job, and it’s great to see the changes you can make to people’s lives.
"You might not think care is for you, but you never know until you try it.
"I’m glad I did."
Home manager Jo Monaghan said: “Matt is a well-liked member of the team and is a reliable, hardworking young man.
"We are lucky to have him as part of the family here at Aria Court."
