A care home has launched a scheme to help people struggling with heating costs.
Aria Court Care Home in March has launched its Winter Warmer Scheme for the second year in a row.
The initiative offers people in the area a warm space, free soup, and a roll throughout November and December.
The scheme was launched last year to support the community and is now being run by Athena's care homes in Cambridge, King's Lynn, Ipswich, Peterborough, and March.
The initiative is not limited to senior citizens, as the care home wants to extend its warmth to anyone who needs it.
Home manager Jo Monaghan said: “At Aria Court we place strong emphasis on being an active and supportive part of the communities where we operate.
"As the weather gets colder, we hope this simple gesture of providing a warm, safe space and a hot meal will make a difference in the lives of those who may need it most.
"Winter can be a particularly hard time for many, and we want to be there for those who might be feeling the cold or isolation.
"Our doors are open, and we’re offering not just a hot meal but also a friendly face and a place to warm up.”
The Winter Warmer Scheme aims to provide more than just a meal, offering a sense of community and fostering social connections during a season that can be especially isolating for some.
