As November draws to a close and we welcome in December, many Fenland towns and villages are preparing for their Christmas light switch on events in 2024.

Here's where and when they are taking place: 

Chatteris Christmas lights switch-on - Saturday November 30 

Taking place from 4.30pm at the bandstand, the lights will be switched on by Father Christmas and a pupil from one of the primary schools.

Volunteers from the Christmas lights team will be walking around with collection buckets too. 

Doddington Christmas lights, fair and switch-on - Saturday November 23

1pm: Doors open at the Methodist Church and Village Halls for the fair and Father Christmas takes up residence in his grotto

3pm onwards: Bets Piece of Cake and Sophie's Mac N Cheese 

3.15pm: The Blues Brothers tribute act perform in the car park of The George pub 

3.40pm: Local musician Kara Lumley will then sing

4pm: Singing from Future Stars

4.30pm: Countdown and switch-on

8pm til late: JC's Mobile Disco at The Three Tuns pub

March Christmas lights switch-on - Friday November 29

Event starts in Broad Street at 6pm with the switch-on being at 7pm.

Taking place at Wimblington Parish Hall from 4-7pm, with the lights going on at 6.30pm.

There will be a grand raffle, hot food and drink, various stalls, and the opportunity for photos with Santa.

Music will be provided by Radio Xtra's Simon. 

Wisbech Christmas lights switch-on - Sunday December 1

Wisbech Town Council have organised the event, which will take place at Wisbech Market Place from 3-6pm. 

The lights will be switched on at 5.45pm and there will be entertainment, 'polar bears', rides, a Santa's grotto, 'Jingle Elves', a snow park and aerial acrobatics.
