This week, the March Athletics Club had heaps of runners competing in various different events.

One of the biggest local events of the year, The Great Eastern Run, took place in Peterborough. The club had 28 runners taking place across the event.

Firstly, three runners completed the Anna's Hope 5k with Kai Stoner first home in 22.08, followed by Sasha Bland in 23.33. Roma O'Neil completed the race in 28.50 and won her age category in the race.

In the Half Marathon, Andrew Jakeman was first back for the club finishing in 20th place amongst a field of over three thousand people. He was followed by Mark Godfrey and Steve Beasley who both achieved big PBs.

Kanina O'Neil was first lady for the club in 1:25:38. Michelle Prior and Samantha Hodson rounded off the top three for the ladies as the March team had another successful event. 

Elsewhere, several members were competing in alternative half marathons. Barry Head completed the Royal Parks Half Marathon in an impressive time of 1:35:10, whilst raising over £1000 for charity. 

At the Ely Tri Club Runfest Sue Ward, Jim Reeves, Smita Gupta, Emma Reed and Luke Fenner took on the half marathon distance as the group ran together and finished just above the 2hour 40minutes mark. Sue's strong running saw her win her age category.

Mark Pegler completed the 10k at the Ely Runfest finishing the off road, challenging course in 58.32 to achieve his fastest time in 35 years. 

Two runners completed the Thetford half marathon, another race with challenging terrain. Jodie and Jason Mottram completed the race in 2hours and 40minutes, despite cold conditions making it challenging.

Andrew Larham took part in the Shoulden Warren XC Grand Prix 5k and placed 5th in his age category in 22:13.
